When you’re in dream land and thinking about your wedding, chances are your budget isn’t a part of that dream. We see extravagant weddings online from your favorite celebrities; just wanting a sense of their beautifully decorated wedding! Not everyone has millions of dollars to plan their wedding with but with a little research, you can save money and make your wedding dreams come true!
Luckily for you, I am a local wedding photographer and live, eat and sleep the Rochester, NY wedding market. I’m here to give you some helpful tips when planning your wedding day!
Rochester Facebook Groups
By now it’s known that Facebook is more than just a place to connect with friends and family. It’s likely that a local wedding facebook group already exists in your area. Specific to Rochester, the wedding group pages you need to follow are Rochester area wedding swap and Rochester Wedding Connection.
Designing your dream wedding doesn’t mean you need to buy everything new. Rochester Area Wedding Swap is a place to buy pre-owned decor for your wedding. Fingers crossed, you only have one wedding. So spending a bunch of money on one day isn’t necessary. You can find items such as glasses, signs, candles, picture frames, furniture and so much more! Once your wedding is over, feel free to hop back onto Rochester Area Wedding Swap and make some of your money back!
The facebook group Rochester Wedding Connection is a great place to find reviews on vendors, get vendor recommendations and sometimes local vendors will post in the group; offering special pricing on their wedding services.
Rochester Rental Vendors
If your venue doesn’t offer in house rentals or maybe you’re doing your event at your family home. If buying and selling isn’t something you’re interested in; you can save money by renting decor pieces. For example you can rent items such as, arbors, tables, chairs, flower walls and the list goes on. I’ll include some links for great places to rent from.
Save Money With Preferred Vendors
You just booked your dream venue and you’re looking forward to saying I do! Now it’s time to find your other wedding vendors. Chances are, your venue has a preferred venue list. These vendors are usually companies you can trust and will already have a working relationship with your venue. Sometimes they will offer discounts for weddings at your specific venue. The plus to this is, it gives you reassurance things will go well on your wedding day, as the vendors are already familiar with your location.
There are always ways to save money on your wedding. Having a budget and allocating where you’re willing to spend the money, is really going to help you pull your vision together. Put your money where it most matters to you. It’s your day, not anyone else’s!
